Confirmation Classes
OLQH is now accepting candidates into the New Confirmation program. Father Al Wierzba is coordinating the program for 2010/2011 and will be teaching classes. What Fr. Al will do: give you the tools to know your Catholic faith as an adult member of the Church, enlightened by the confirming gifts of the Holy Spirit. Classes will meet on twelve Wednesdays from 6:00-7:15pm. Class topics will include:
What is Confirmation? Creation, Sin, Covenants, Sacrifice, Blessed Mother Mary; the life and teaching of Jesus; Communion of Saints; Devotions to Saints; Intercessory prayer; Deposit of Faith; Scripture and Tradition; Magisterium; Truth verses opinion; Creed; Prayer; Gifts of the Holy Spirit; The Mass and the Eucharist; Vocation; Evangelization; Call to Holiness; Heaven / Hell / Purgatory; and many other cool topics.
What will be expected of You?: Deepening your relationship with Jesus Christ and His Church; to develop a relationship with a saint of your choosing; to pray a retreat; to help with a service project for the parish; to attend Sunday and Holy Day Masses; and to come prepared to the Confirmation classes.
